The Lowell Program in Economic Geology was endowed by a gift from J. David Lowell to the University of Arizona.
Examples of existing courses that would fall under the Economics, Business, and People portion of the curriculum:
Economic factors, including taxation, mineral depletion allowance, and finance in the mining industry; includes fundamentals of engineering economics, capital budgeting, and risk analysis.

The course focuses on topics of fundamental macroeconomics, project development and management, business and organizational modeling, decision analysis, and communication/presentation skills.
Course focuses on the problems and methods of running projects; it gives special attention to information technology and software projects. Students manage real projects, use scheduling software, study cases, and use analytical tools.

Introduction to database management systems, relational models, security concurrency, integrity, and recovery issues, query interfaces.
This course examines the acquisition, disposal, and management of the public lands. Particular emphasis is placed upon the mineral land laws and the laws related to exploration and development of mineral resources.
